Duration: June-November 2016
The goal of the project is to establish and develop a research network on decentralisation which will gather researchers from the Western Balkans and further internationalise the research on fiscal decentralisation and local governance and development, since there is a strong need for policy-applied, evidence-based scientific research in this field. The network will assist in establishing cooperation between researchers and experts at the regional and European level, thus helping increase its research and publishing capacities, as well as internationalise and increase the visibility and impact of research in this field. The goals of the project are as follows:
a) to bring together researchers from the region interested in decentralisation issues to cooperate more closely, network internally and externally, and further develop expertise in the field of decentralisation in the region;
b) to pool research capacities and efforts in order to put decentralisation on the regional research and policy agenda and to increase joint research prospects, publishing potential, visibility and policy impact.
