The "Data Management and Analysis" training took place at the University of Prishtina, Department of Political Science on 27 and 28 May 2010. This training was organized in close cooperation with the University of Fribourg and all of the RRPP Local Coordination Units in the Western Balkans.

The training was conducted by Mr Brian Kleiner and Mr Oliver Lipps of Swiss Foundation for Research in Social Sciences (FORS). Mr Kleiner serves as head of the Data and Research Information Services Division at FORS. Mr Lipps is a senior researcher at FORS and has been working on survey methodological issues since 1995.

This training focused on features of data management during the research process. Particular attention was paid to the importance of good documentation and to the skills necessary for using existing data that have been gathered by other researchers.

The sessions of this two-day long training was very practice-oriented and thus relevant to the ongoing research projects supported by RRPP.

The interaction of trainers and participants and the dynamics of the group was appreciated by all of the participants and the training also served as a great networking opportunity for the researchers from the region.
